עולם-הסיוט של צ'יינה מייויל - פנטזיה כחלום רע / יאיר (דיקי) סמבן

ההרצאה תעסוק בספרי "ניו קרובוזון" של צ'יינה מייוויל – מסופרי הפנטסיה המסקרנים והמאתגרים של ימינו. העולם המורכב, האלים והמרתק שבו מתרחשים ספריו Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Iron Council דומה מאוד לעולם הפנטסיה הוויקטוריאנית שעליו חלמנו כשקראנו את דיקנס וטולקין, אבל הקריאה בספרים מזכירה יותר סיוט רע שהקורא רוצה להתעורר ממנו. מיהו צ'יינה מייוויל, שהוגדר לא פעם כסופר החשוב ביותר של העת הנוכחית, ומה עבר בראשו כשכתב את הדברים הללו?

יאיר (דיקי) סמבן הוא חבר פעיל בקהילת המד"ב, הפנטסיה ומשחקי התפקידים, לצד עיסוקיו השוליים כקצין בצה"ל, חוקר ארגוני טרור ומנהל הייטק.
